The application provides a solution for smoother operation and updates of the Fotokite Phi.
Features:
* News: catch up with our latest news, fetched directly from our official website
* Firmwares: browse or download our latest firmwares and update your Phi Leash
* Controls: connect to your Fotokite Phi, press the floating orange button, and enjoy the benefits of the Fotokite control overlay
Permission requirements:
* Bluetooth: the application talks with the Fotokite Phi and its leash through Bluetooth (BLE)
* GPS: Since Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the system needs the device's location in order to scan for Bluetooth Smart devices. The location information is only required during the discovery and the pairing process, and not during the flight operation
* Internet: we fetch our latest news and available firmware updates from the Internet
* Internal storage: in order to provide a smoother user experience, we cache data from previous downloads (News and Firmwares)
Remark:
The Fotokite control overlay currently only works with BLE and not with Gazelle (the communication standard used by our latest firmware). Consequently, in order to leverage this functionality, the vehicle firmware version must be below 1.1.0, otherwise the application will not be able to find the vehicle. The firmware update is coming soon!
